Cos'e' il book club? Un momento per incontrarsi, leggere in inglese, conversare in inglese e vedersi un film in inglese, una ottima occasione per fare pratica, conoscere altre persone interessate alla lettura in inglese.

Gli incontri non sono lezioni, non hanno la struttura della lezione. Sono gruppi di conversazione in lingua straniera.

Il book club di ABCentre è in inglese, ed è per adulti. Possono partecipare tutte le persone che abbiano un livello di inglese che permette loro di conversare, non necessariamente di livello avanzato.

Quante volte si incontra il gruppo? Il gruppo ha diritto a 10 incontri da 2 ore (circa uno al mese per 10 mesi).

Cosa fa il gruppo? Il gruppo sceglie un autore/ libro da leggere (lo stesso per tutti). Parla del libro, dell’autore, degli argomenti trattati e può vedere un film attinente al libro.

Il gruppo deve avere possibilmente un livello linguistico omogeneo, pertanto ognuno deve decidere se si trova bene in quel gruppo.

Dear Friends,
We’d like to invite you to the opening session of the English Book Club for the 2011/2012 year of activities on Friday, 2 September, at 18:00 at Alpha British Centre – Viale Michelangelo 26 - Arezzo.

Our English Book Club works on a Membership basis and is open to everybody who loves reading and is fluent in English enough to understand the content of the book and to make a comment.
We usually meet once a month and in friendly atmosphere, we discuss the subject of the book, expressing our feelings and opinions.

The next meeting will be dedicated to “Where Dreams Come True” a book by Linda Lee Ratto – the American author that has already been our guest in November 2010. “Where Dreams Come True” is a short novel about a girl with a disability that has to struggle against several difficulties in the 19th Century Amish Society in America. The author herself is a mother of two, already adult, disabled children and as a mother, writer and educator gives the reader the opportunity to discover the whole world of emotions, problems and desires of young disabled people and proves that even their dreams can “come true”.

During the next meeting, we will decide the priority of the books we have chosen to read next and here below you’ll find the list of titles that can be still implemented by new Members.

We hope you’ll find our meetings enjoyable and will join us in this wonderful world of exploring International Literature in English.
